Privacy Policy — Husband Companion

Last updated: September 14, 2026
Effective date: September 3, 2026

Husband Companion ("the App," "we," "us," "our") is an iOS application for men who want an extraordinary marriage: a private place to remember what matters — dates, promises, the particulars of your family — and to get a thoughtful read on how you are showing up. The App is currently offered only in the United States via the U.S. App Store; see "Availability outside the United States" below. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App handles, where it lives, how it is used, and your rights regarding it. It applies to the iOS App only; for our website's privacy practices, see coppersuncompanion.com/privacy.

The App is operated by Copper Sun Content and Creative, LLC("the Company"), a single-member limited liability company based in the United States.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support [at] coppersuncreative [dot] com. You can also access this policy at any time from within the App and at coppersuncompanion.com/husband/privacy.

Privacy in 60 seconds

Where your data lives

The App is built so that your data never has to leave your own Apple ecosystem. There is no Company backend, database, or account system behind it. Concretely:

Because we hold none of your data, we cannot access it, recover it for you, or delete it on your behalf. Deletion is entirely in your hands (see "Your rights and choices").

What the App handles

1. What you tell it

The App works from what you type or say to it: moments you want to remember, promises you have made, dates that matter, names and details about your wife, children, or other family, and notes about how you want to show up. You decide what to share; nothing is required. This information is stored only as described above and is used only to make the App's responses specific to you.

Information about other people. Much of what you save will be about your spouse and family, possibly including children. It is your own private record, stored only on your device and in your iCloud. We never receive it, and we ask that you save it with the same care you would give a private journal.

Voice input. You can speak instead of type. Speech recognition uses Apple's Speech framework to convert your speech to text; depending on your device and settings, Apple may process the audio on-device or on Apple's servers under Apple's own privacy terms. The App does not record or store audio: microphone audio goes straight to Apple's speech recognizer, and only the transcribed text is kept, handled exactly like anything you type. If you use Siri or Shortcuts to log a moment, Siri processes your speech under Apple's Siri terms and the App receives only the text. The App does not create or store voiceprints or any other biometric identifier.

2. AI processing

The App's conversational responses are produced by the AI capabilities built into iOS. When you send a message, that message and the relevant saved context are processed on Apple's privacy-preserving cloud infrastructure (Private Cloud Compute) under Apple's privacy terms, which state that data sent there is used only to fulfill your request and is not retained. The App requires an iPhone with Apple Intelligence enabled and a network connection; when either is unavailable, the App says so and keeps what you type saved until it is back. The Company never sees these requests, operates no AI service, and sends nothing to any third-party AI provider.

If we ever add an AI processing path that leaves your Apple ecosystem, we will update this policy and the App's own privacy statements before it takes effect.

3. Home-screen widget

The App keeps a small summary — the next saved date and how many commitments are open — in its on-device shared container so the home-screen widget can show it. That summary never leaves your phone.

4. Reminders

If you turn on day-before reminders in the App's Settings, the App schedules local notifications on your phone for the key dates you have saved. These are scheduled and delivered entirely by iOS on your device; no server is involved and nothing is sent anywhere. You can turn them off in the App or in iOS Settings → Notifications.

5. Diagnostics

The App does notinclude a crash-reporting or analytics SDK and does not send diagnostics to us. It uses Apple's MetricKit framework to read the crash and performance summaries that iOS itself generates about the App, and records them on your device. The diagnostics export you can share from Settings contains only a count of those reports, not the reports themselves. Nothing is transmitted unless you share it. Separately, Apple may share aggregated crash and usage data with developers if you have opted in under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements; that program is governed by Apple's privacy terms.

6. Tracking technologies

The App does notuse cookies, web beacons, pixels, advertising SDKs, fingerprinting, or any similar tracking technologies. It does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because it has nothing to track. Its App Store privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking.

7. Payment information

We do notcollect or store payment information. Any purchase or subscription is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, and the App checks your entitlement using Apple's StoreKit on your device. We never see your card number, billing address, or any other payment-method detail, and no third-party subscription service is involved. To request a refund, manage billing, or cancel, use iOS Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions, or Apple's Report a Problem (opens in a new tab) page.

8. What the App does NOT collect

The App does not collect or process:

Nothing you save is transmitted to the Company. The only data that leaves your device does so through Apple services you control — iCloud sync, speech recognition, Private Cloud Compute AI processing, and App Store purchases — each under Apple's privacy terms.

How your data is used

Your data is used only for these purposes:

  1. To provide the App's core functionality— remembering what you save, answering your questions from it, noticing patterns worth acting on, and making the App's responses specific to your family.
  2. To generate responses through the AI built into iOS, as described above.
  3. To respond to you if you contact support and choose to share a diagnostic export.

We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertisers, or use it for cross-app tracking. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We hold no aggregated or de-identified data sets derived from the App because we receive no data from it.

Profiling and automated processing

The App builds a picture of you and your family within the App — the people you have described, the dates and commitments you have saved, and the patterns in your own notes. This exists only on your device and in your iCloud, only to make the App's responses relevant to you, and is used in no other way.

The App's responses are generated by AI from what you have saved. They are suggestions to help you be a present, skilled partner; they are not counseling, therapy, legal advice, or medical advice, and they do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you within the meaning of GDPR Article 22. You always make the decisions.

Who can access your data

The Company cannot. The App has no Company-operated service provider that handles your data. The only parties that process any of it are Apple services that you control through your own device and Apple Account:

PartyWhat they handlePurpose
Apple — iCloud (CloudKit private database)A mirror of your App database, if iCloud sync is onSync across your devices and restore after reinstall
Apple — iOS AI (Private Cloud Compute)Your message and relevant saved context, per turnGenerating the App's responses
Apple — SpeechAudio while you dictateSpeech-to-text
Apple — App Store / StoreKitYour purchase transactionsPayment processing and entitlement

Each of these is governed by Apple's privacy policy and by the settings on your device. We have no contract with any other processor for this App, and we do not disclose your data to anyone because we do not hold it. If we are ever legally compelled to produce data about you, we will have none to produce beyond a support email you may have sent us.

Diagnostic exports you share

The App's Settings include an option to export a diagnostic bundle (a short list of recent app event names, error markers, and memory readings) so you can send it to support. It is designed to exclude the content of your conversations and saved data. Sharing it is entirely your choice; if you do, we use it only to help you and delete it when the issue is resolved.

How your data is protected

No system is perfectly secure. Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, protecting your device and Apple Account (a strong passcode, two-factor authentication) is the most important safeguard. Should the Company ever come to hold personal information about you (for example through a support conversation) and that information is affected by a breach, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

How long your data is kept

Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud until you delete it. Because it is under your control, there is no Company retention period. Erasing the conversation in the App blanks the stored messages immediately; "Delete everything" removes all App data from your device and, as sync completes, from your iCloud. Deleting the App removes its on-device data; the iCloud copy remains until you delete it from the App first or remove the App's data through iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Support emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.

Your rights and choices

Availability outside the United States

The App is currently offered only in the United States via the U.S. App Store and is not made available for download in the European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Brazil, or other non-U.S. App Store storefronts. We do not market the App to residents of those regions.

Before we expand availability to any non-U.S. region, we will make the registrations and designations required by that region's privacy law — including, where applicable, an EU Article 27 representative, a UK GDPR representative, a Swiss FADP representative, a South Korean PIPA domestic representative, or a Brazilian LGPD operator — and we will update this Privacy Policy to describe the statutory rights available to residents of that region before offering the App there.

If you believe you are a resident of a non-U.S. region and have accessed the App, please contact us using the address above. The rights described in this policy — access, correction, deletion, portability — are exercisable directly on your device regardless of where the App is offered.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

For California residents: the Company does not collect, sell, or share your personal information through this App, and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Your rights of access, deletion, correction, and portability are exercisable directly within the App as described above. The App may hold, on your device and in your iCloud, information you enter about your family relationships; the Company never receives it.

Right to appeal. If we deny a privacy request you have submitted, you may appeal our decision by emailing the contact address above with the subject line "CCPA APPEAL" and a brief description of the request. We will respond to your appeal within sixty (60) days.

Other U.S. states

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Washington, and other U.S. states with comprehensive consumer privacy or consumer-health-data laws have the rights of access, correction, deletion, and opt-out of targeted advertising and sales, where applicable. The App collects no consumer health data, and we do not engage in targeted advertising or sale of personal information.

Children

The App is designed for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, the threshold under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — and, as described throughout, we collect no data from anyone through the App. Information you choose to save about your own children stays on your device and in your iCloud under your control. If you believe a child has used the App to send us personal information (for example by email), please contact us and we will delete it.

Not counseling, therapy, or crisis support

The App is a memory and connection companion. It does not provide marriage counseling, therapy, medical care, legal advice, or crisis intervention, and it is not a substitute for any of them. If you or anyone in your household is in danger, contact emergency services (911 in the United States). If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) in the United States. For domestic violence, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233. The App's responses are generated by AI and may be wrong; you are responsible for the decisions you make.

Changes to this policy

We will update this Privacy Policy when the App's data practices change — in particular before any change that would move your data outside your device and your iCloud. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes, we will give notice through an App update, the App Store listing, or a notice posted at this address before they take effect. You can always access the current version from within the App or at coppersuncompanion.com/husband/privacy.
